WHAT IS TAPPING?
A profound Healing technique that helps release buried traumas from our bodies/energy fields.
During our lifetimes many of us have suffered times/events when something came out of the
blue and left us shocked. We often then had no one to talk to or help us nor did we have the resources to handle what was happening at the time. Hence we stuff the emotions/shocks and form little 'trauma capsules' which block our natural flow of energy through the body. Just as our veins and arteries can become blocked, so too can our wiring/meridians which the Chinese have mapped out thousands of years ago.
These blockages or trauma capsules are always pulsing, ready for the lid to pop off, causing us to overreact when we least expect it.
Energy that cannot flow freely can cause all sorts of later problems including ill physical or mental health, anxiety, panic attacks, extreme fears, over-reactions, feelings of not being loveable, excessive eating, excessive drinking, relationship problems, etc.
Tapping....while we tune in and recall the events, helps us clear a space to BE all the we can and want to be. It can also help us release worn out thoughts and beliefs that are moving our lives in the opposite direction of what we truly want. We begin to realize that life is not about luck or chance but that we can actually be co-creators in helping to create our own luck.
The Infinite Intelligence of the Body is designed to heal and I feel that our creator intended for us to be more loving, healthy and joyful as we live our life experiences. If this isn't our normal state, then we are somehow blocking our natural flow of energy. Down deep, underneath all these
blocked energies and traumatic events that have happened to us or been passed down to us
through our ancestral lines, we are all beautiful souls, created from Love. Tapping can help us
find that diamond within ourselves. It can help us all find that Peace that will then begin to build
World peace.... at last. This is the first tool I've discovered yet that has the power to help us
uncover our own personal internal power which is quite different from external power.
Never.....can we have World Peace until we begin to individually find INNER PEACE.
Tapping Therapy combines body therapy with talk therapy....tap and talk to release traumas rather than reinforce. Modern science is currently discovering that just recalling old traumas and 'talking' about them does not release them from the body and can often actually make them stronger, building not only neuropathways but actual neurobundles of the problems. In fact, this is what led the orginator of Tapping Therapy (Dr. Callahan) to discover TFT which Gary Craig then redeveloped into EFT. Dr. Callahan had worked successfully for 30 years as a psychologist but realized that it was taking too long for people to get better and that many people never did completely recover. (A good example of this are Vietnam Veterans who have carried their traumas for over 40 years as have many other war veterans.) I remember one time when a good friend of mine confided to me that her husband still suffered constant nightmares from the Korean War. She said, "No one knows what traumas they still carry with them long after the wars are over!"
Now, we have found a way to help them release those traumas once and for all. They'll still have the memories but no longer the nightmares which is simply the subconscious showing them that there is still something attached to what they experienced that is wanting to be released.
The points where these meridians cross over 14 times as they run around and around the body, are closest to the skin's surface, making them accessible for us to use fingertips to tap
to affect them rather than having to use needles such as in acupuncture. Another difference between tapping therapy and acupuncture is that when we do the tapping we TUNE IN to what is bothering us WHILE we tap and release. Once we've tapped until we can think about that event but feel NO feeling or emotion, it is gone for good and should not come back to 'haunt' us anymore. We still have the memory of the emotional event but the emotion has been RELEASED. We've left space for more peace, calm, lightness, and joy.
In other words, when we pull up a mental file that we'd like to change, by THINKING about it, then TAP as we think about a specific part of it, we can neutralize or collapse thoughts that no longer fit the way we want our lives to be.
Close your eyes, think of something that you don't like that is happening in your life right now. Notice how it makes you feel. All your energies, muscles, and organs tighten up. If you continue to focus on these negative thoughts, leaving this unaddressed, this can develop into chronic pains and problems.
As you continue to think about whatever is making you feel this way, and focus in on what
is the worst part about it, then tap on the points listed at the bottom of this page, while you say words to help you keep that particular file open, you begin to neutralize the negative thoughts and open up the flow of energy again.
You would focus as outlined above, tap through all the points, then take a deep breath. Now focus intently on that issue again and the worst part of it, Notice what has changed. Is it better? Is it worse? Has your thought shifted to another piece of the problem?
If it's better, you'll want to tap again until it's completely gone. If it's worse, then you have
probably tuned into another layer of the issue or another issue and will have to change your
words and tap again. If your issue has shifted, you have a choice of shifting to
the new issue or continue tapping on this one. If you shift to a new issue, once you
totally collapse it, you will need to come back and test to see if the first issue is gone as well.
When it's tapped completely away, that issue won't bother you anymore. If it seems to
come back again later, you will have missed some of the pieces of it. Find those pieces and tap again.
For example, you might have tapped for a fear of spiders and it seems to be all gone but when you see a spider and see it moving you again feel that intense fear. You probably hadn't
tapped for the spider moving. Or it might be that you don't like big ones, or you are afraid of their long legs. And it could be that you need to tap on All of those aspects or pieces.
Your goal is to tap away all resistance, all blockage to your energy flowing clearly and naturally again.
EINSTEIN SAID: "You cannot fix a problem with the same MIND that created it.
Our brain runs different wave patterns at different times. The four basic ones are:
BETA, ALPHA, THETA and DELTA.
BETA creates the problems. That's it's job. Talk therpy keeps us in Beta and tends to
reinforce neuropathways connected to our problems. The more we just 'talk' about them, the more these neuropathways turn into Bundles. Just talking does not release it from the body.
The mistake many of us make is that we think up a problem then we try to THINK our way out of it, but the solutions cannot be found in the thinking/beta mind. We have to go deeper.
ALPHA is the BRIDGE between beta mind and our deeper mind (theta and delta).
For those who do a LOT of thinking, studying, etc. (spend a lot of time in the thinking, beta mind) the alpha bridge can sometimes become very weak. Soon we become further and further separated from our connection to source which connects through those deeper brain waves. We can't find solutions, we feel stuck, life seems hard, we have little joy and most importantly of all...it feels like God isn't listening! But we've just pulled our plugs...lost our god-channels. Tapping can help us TUNE IN and get plugged back in.
What I witnessed while hooked up to brainwaves as I tapped with a client (using only bears to tap on besides), was that as we tapped, the alpha bridge began becoming stronger and stronger and the deeper mind then became more open. Since this is also where our old traumas are stored, as we continue to tap, these old traumas that have blocked our energy tends to pop up into our awareness. We can then focus on the specific events that caused them and TAP them OUT leaving a clearer space and more free flowing energy. We can be happier, perform better, speak better, drive better, be healthier, have more freedom from pain, get sudden inspirations, be more creative and on and on.
Children, up to the age of 2 are in wide open Theta, soaking everything in like a sponge and putting their own perception onto things without the help of the reasoning mind because their reasoning mind is not developed yet.
From the age of 2 - 7 they are wide open Theta. They tend to turn many things around.
This is why many of our old traumas go back to those very early ages. Previously it often took hypnosis or very deep work to get to these things. With tapping they often come up much more easily and are dealt with even more easily.
Therapy can take just a few sessions rather than years.
Many of us know people who've been in therapy for years with little overall improvement.
With tapping, they are finally able to not only find relief, but most of all, HOPE.

make it easier and jump over and through life's challenges, releasing any left-over residue.
